Shallow and uninspired biopic with two unlikeable lead performances

Great movie, but I wish it had gone more into his life as a Christian. I thought Phoenix should have gotten the Academy award that year for best actor. His best performance to date! And, of course, Reese Witherspoon rocked too.

Joaquin Phoenix did such a good job in this

Mangold ohjaa tehokkaasti ja molemmat pääosat Näyttelevät loistavasti. Musiikki on loistavaa. Mutta onhan tämän tyyppisiä elämänkertoja tehty onnistuneemminkin. Hieman jää tarinaan kaipailemaan jotain muutakin herra Cashin elämästä.

For both Joaquin Phoenix' and Resse Witherspoon's performances, which are amazing, for them singing themselves - I'm in awe. :O) Phoenix makes Mr Cash truly alive in front of us watching. Love is a burning thing...

There's no denying the biopic cliches, but Phoenix and Witherspoon jump even those hurdles. It's going to be hard for audiences and the Academy not to show them some love.
