Awesome story about a father and son's relationship under extreme conditions.

I think that it is very well done, very accurate in what they wanted to show, and very close to the original book. However, here we have 2 hours of despair, with very little hope. Even the end credits have no music, to keep the spectator in the mood of the last scene. Very harsh, and maybe not what you would expect from an evening in the theater... Just be prepared ;)
I saw this movie and loved the way the man looks after his son and how his son became an adult that will also brings the world back to life and humanity... desarming, sad but absolutely beautiful...
Malheureusement le film n'est pas à la hauteur du talent de Viggo Mortensen!!!
Very slow....not really a story arc of any kind...gorgeous cinematography and good acting do not rescue it.
Unflinching in its severity and bleakness. How do you preserve that which makes you human when everything in your environment demands that you sacrifice your humanity?
Un film puissant et radical, porté par un casting magistral... Ca vous prend aux tripes et ça vous scotche à votre fauteuil... Bravo ! Je n'ai malheureusement pas lu le bouquin, mais ça donne envie de s'y mettre...
Dr dulu pengen cari bukunya... tp blom diterjemahin ke bhs indonesia kayanya ...
Critic Reviews
It hits a few tinny, sentimental notes. Still, I admire the craft and conviction of this film, and I was impressed enough by the look and the performances to recommend that you see it.full review
In this haunting portrait of America as no country for old men or young, Hillcoat -- through the artistry of Mortensen and Smit-McPhee -- carries the fire of our shared humanity and lets it burn bright and true.full review
You hang on to yourself for dear life, resisting belief as best you can in the face of powerful acting, persuasive filmmaking and the perversely compelling certainty that nothing will turn out all right.full review
Great junk like Resident Evil and passable schlock like 28 Weeks Later have more skill and integrity. Why would anyone want to make -- or watch -- this Hillcoat/McCarthy desolation except to feel fashionably cynical?full review
The most arresting aspect of The Road is just how fully the filmmakers have realized this bleak, blighted landscape of a modern society reduced to savagery.full review
Zombieland was the same movie with laughs, but if you take away the comedy, what is left? Nothing, on a vast scale.full review
Mortensen warms the film with his presence, creating a vivid portrait of a bereft man clinging to the one thing he has left.full review
John Milton described hell as "darkness visible." That is the grim, mesmerizing world that director John Hillcoat creates here.full review
While the film is not as resonant as the novel, it is an honorable adaptation, capturing the essence of the bond between father and son.full review
