Portrayed by numerous untalented actors ( Except for Liev Schreiber, Peter Stormare and Julianna Margulies). The filmmaker and writer were swept like numerous other attempts to visualize Hitler as the EVIL itself ... However they still tend to portray him with great stupidity and irrationality which confuses anyone with a 1.0 IQ. Why can't they just make a proper portrait for the guy for fuck sake. I'm really getting sick with all this American Anti-Hitler drift that has been flowing massively for the last 3-4 years Valkyrie , Inglorious Bastards, Defiance ...etc. I dunno when the hell this is going to stop .. When will all these hi end production companies stop all this crap about the end of the world, Islamic Terrorists, Nazis and serial killers and start making us some good films?.
Brilliant performance by Robert Carlyle. One of the best ever I have seen .
Seorang orator handal, persisten, dan pendendam. Bermimpi untuk mewujudkan Jerman yang lebih baik, alhasil kehancuran manusia yang ia tegakkan.

The story revolves around Adolf Hitler, from his childhood with his authoritarian father Alois and beloved mother Klara, to his life as a destitute student trying to pursue a career as an artist. It also documents his gradual embrace of anti-Semitism; the film portrays Hitler as becoming a committed anti-Semite after a Jewish colonel goes back on his word to recommend him for the Iron Cross.
Hitler is then shown to join the German Workers' Party and befriends Ernst Röhm, leading to the Munich Beer Hall Putsch and finally his quest to become Chancellor of Germany.
In this film, Hitler's rise is attributed to Ernst Hanfstaengl, who finances his cause and provides him with political connections. Hitler is shown to harbor romantic feelings for Hanfstaengel's wife, Helene. Hitler's friendship with Röhm is also well highlighted â including the latter's homosexuality â as well as his relationship with his niece Geli Raubal, and her mysterious death.
The film ends with Hitler becoming President of Germany in 1934 and declaring the "1000-year Reich" as his voice is drowned in the chants of "Sieg Heil" from an adoring crowd.

Made him look like a mad man from min one of the movie. Like they knew anything about him when he was growing up. What little they did know they just filled in with drama filler. Anyone who believes everything in this movie or that his attitude was constantly like this is just another sheep. I do admire his passion and dedication to his nation and his people. If we had more people like him in America, we wouldnt be in the situation we are in. Not saying it wasnt a good movie, because it was just that a good fictional movie with bits of facts thrown in. Great actors make this only fall short to the movie Downfall.
Don't know how many of the single details really hold true but the story is still great!

It is about the ascent, through madness, fear and greed, of Adolf Hitler. This or that president of the US has been compared to this dictator. But no one in America has seized power, nor wielded it, in the fashion of this politician. Not since the emperors of Rome has anyone risen so high on a cult of personality.
Hitler is captured with genius and nuance by Robert Carlyle. Whether practicing his exuberant and violent hand gestures for a speech, or the palsy-like shaking that becomes more evident throughout his career, the performance is spot on. We see him transformed from sheepish to imposing, deceitful to betrayer, from petty to vile. With him, through threat and indulgence, he take a country with him.
The movie covers the story of Hitler from obscure childhood to the leader of a consolidated government, where the army owes allegiance to him personally and not to the state. It finishes at the Nuremberg rally, making Leni Riefenstahl's "Triumph of the Will" the immediate sequel. Not since "Downfall" (Der Untergang) has Hitler been portrayed with such honesty, showing us the brilliance coupled with the insane.
Robert Carlyle tous simplement magistral dans son rôle, l'histoire est prenante.
Encore un film sur la seconde guerre mondiale mais espérons que se ne sera pas le dernier car il ne faut pas oublier... et surtout ne pas recommencer!!!
This summarized and taught me a few things I never really knew about Hitler's past. Pretty stunning seeing how events unfolded as he worked to achieve power.
President Paul von Hindenburg:"If I appoint you Chancellor, how will I answer to God?"
Hitler: "How will you answer to Germany if you don't?"
Adolf Hitler: "Either the enemy will pass over our body, or we will pass over theirs!"
