I gave this movie a high rating because it was way ahead of its time. The plot is a teeny bit hokey to me now that I'm older, but I loved it as a kid and the overall message is still great. The music was excellent, too.

There seems to be a real spark of innovation to it, but too many hands in the soup, and bad timing must have screwed things up badly. Great music (wish there was a soundtrack album) and fun animation, but, unforunately, the elements didn't come together right, and I get the sense that something's missing. But that's the fun of it- to try to figure it out and fill gaps in my mind.

It's not as crazy as Starchaser, but it has fantastic music, and a decent visual look.

It just lacks the overall crazy sexual innuendos the Starchaser so proudly displayed.

The speech track in Bauhaus' Party of the First Part is taken from this film... in case you're not familiar with it.

They put all their money into this and it went down like a lead balloon. It really isn't the worst movie i've ever seen but it isn't the best. Heavy Metal is a far better film.

A triumph of classic cel animation. Rock and roll fantasy at it's finest. Deserves at least one watch.
