The acting was horrific, the cinematography was bland, the dialogue was atrocious, and the score was obnoxiously grandiose and completely inappropriate for the subject matter. It was all quite melodramatic and insincere. There was absolutely no character development either. I couldn't even find myself sympathizing with any of the characters. That, folks, is a sad state of affairs.... when you can't make a movie about the holocaust that stirs up emotion, you know you've done something horribly wrong as a filmmaker. When I look at this story, I simply cringe at the way it was ruined by this trash movie. It's a TRUE STORY, a GREAT STORY of human triumph, struggle, heartache, and sacrifice that could have been a cinematic masterpiece, but instead it was dreadful. I feel that the real life Krauzenbergs deserve a remake. Don't even bother with this!
