Check out this gloriously ridiculous sex romp, which would almost be offensive if it weren't so thoroughly bizarre. Bronson is an alleged 38 year old novelist (at the time, he was actually 48 but looks 68) who inexplicably hooks up with a 16 year old English schoolgirl! (Inexplicable, as Bronson spends the entire movie doing his best impression of an Easter Island statue.) Riddled with logical errors, hilariously bad melodrama and a raft of remarkably clumsy wannabe French New Wave/Richard Lester zooms and jump cuts. Second-time feature director Donner shows no sign of the man who would eventually helm such hits as THE OMEN, SUPERMAN, and the LETHAL WEAPON series. Godawful.
