Not funny, not that great of a story. It was nice to see Scott play a character with more depth than his usual.

I'm the sorta guy who prefers it when Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler go out of their comfort zones and play it straight. And so I approached Trainwreck with some optimism, having faith that Seann William Scott would come up with something interesting. He's pretty good here, likeable as always, which is a good thing because his character has little going for him and the whole project just feels like the indulgent ramblings of someone who really isn't that interesting. The story certainly has an air of authenticity about it, you really couldn't make this shit up, but it also feels pretty formless as a story. The editing is sloppy, the direction bland, and its really only in the last 15 minutes that things begin to catch fire, literally. For the most part though the only empathy I felt with the main character was by sharing his attention deficiency.
I wouldn't call it dramatic, and I wouldn't call it a comedy, but other than that, the summary's pretty accurate. The film is pretty pointless, it is hard to get involved with the characters, they being such losers, and the interest level really struggled due to all the AAA style meetings in the movie. Kind of sad really, and I do admit it can be quite complicated to live in modern society. If you want to see a fairly depressing and non funny movie that doesn't go anywhere then I suppose you could give this a try.
Looser trays to find his perfect job, in the meantime, he tells all about him in support groups and AA meetings
The movie has some good moments, but in the long run quite unsteady.
I wouldn't call it a comedy at all. I didn't laugh once. I just thought it was tragic. Sean William Scott gave a good performance, though. I never thought he would be able to play a role like this. But don't expect a fun movie when you watch this one - excpect to see a movie about a tragic guy who has a lot of self issues. That's pretty much it.
