This was a really cute movie - enjoyable for young and old alike. Loved Susie Essman as the cat. These Pixar movies are just so great for lifting your spirits!
The hamster is the excellent comedian... diluted the semi-sad theme and atmosphere... the plot has quite an original idea
Finally got to see this and I liked it, makes me want a dog! Thank you Netflix and Roku for bringing this to my home. ;)
Loved it. Bolt is just too darn cute! Great humor, nice action sequence at the beginning and a touching story. You can definetly see John Lasseter's influence in this. Great stuff!
Fun, entertaining, fast paced but ultimately childish movie, Bolt has Disney written all over it, with lovable characters, and a good heart as well. Bolt suffers from the lack of a villain to lend any sense of urgency, and the voice acting is nothing to write home again, decent movie for the kids i suppose..
Critic Reviews
Could Bolt 3D be better animated? No. Could it be funnier? A bit. Did it need the 3D? Not really.full review
There's something both simple and sweet about Bolt, yet epic, that's entirely surprising.full review
The 3-D process is an enhancement, even though it's used with little verve or ingenuity. But the movie's terms are severely limited too.full review
Bolt, with its numerous winks and nudges, reminds us how attuned we are to the falseness of pop culture, which isn't the same thing as connecting us with its truths.full review
This computer-animated (but non-Pixar) adventure flick doesn't do much of anything innovative, but it sports a disarming furball of a lead and enough jaunty comic turns to carry the day.full review
It's not a 'gourmet' banquet on the order of Ratatouille or the first Shrek, but this peppy picture is certainly more than a cinematic 'snack,' and for its 96-minute running time will not bore kids, the parents or other adults joining them.full review
Adults won't find much to enjoy here, though the dog's high-octane action series serves as a perverse parody of Jerry Bruckheimer-style summer blockbusters.full review
The format brilliantly brings an audience that much closer to a handful of increasingly lonely, yet contagiously enthusiastic, animals.full review
Its script is smart, its conceit a heart-tugger in the finest of senses, and it's the first Disney effort in way too long to be more concerned with being a movie than with being a breeding ground for product tie-ins.full review
If Bolt does not quite rise to the level of bona fide Pixar masterpieces like Wall-E, Finding Nemo and Ratatouille, it does manage to be frisky, funny and inventive enough to engage the attention of grown-ups as well as children.full review
