I'm a fan of horror and just picked it up one day in Best Buy. It was weird at first and I wasn't too sure but then it got better throughout the movie. I've never read the book, so I had no basis on what I was about to see. I knew that it dealt with a sociopath and thought, "Oh boy, here comes another genre offering of slasher/gore/tits proportions. Boy was I wrong. Well, minus the tits and blood, but boy was I wrong.

The quality of this low-budget movie is great. I loved the opening shot of Ray Pye walking through the forest and all we can see are his legs moving. There were only a few problems I had with this movie, one being the audio for a certain scene and the other being the actress with the red tank top who has the psychotic mother. Man, her acting was terrible. Everything else I loved. I'm not sure why, but I loved how we watched Ray walk around and have sex with girls instead of him creeping up and stabbing people left and right.

Movies like this make you really think about how you rate movies. Can you still give a movie a high rating if you didn't enjoy it? Cause I did not enjoy this movie. Parts of it were boring, but there were parts that made me more uncomfortable than any film in recent memory. The main actor did a scary job of becoming that character, which made it all the more chilling.

I'd reccomend this film to everyone, but seeing it might just kill you. One of the most disturbing fucking movies ever made, hands down.

Director Chris Sivertson did a good job with this movie but the killer was a little too over the top and the movie felt like it was missing big chunks of the story. Overall I liked this movie but I just think that it could have been a bit better.

There are some fantastic performances courtesy of Marc Senter and Robin Sydney... but everyone else seems a tad lackluster and boring. I loved the weird 1950s/1960s feel of the film and it had a twisted storyline to boot, but I still felt like something was missing. The movie also dragged on too much, as though they were trying to film the book chapter by chapter. If they had condensed the story a bit more, the film wouldn't have dragged on so much in the middle portion.

Senter is incredibly gorgeous, I can barely take my eyes off him. He has such command over the cameras and he makes for such a likable sociopath. Sydney is great too, but it's her rocking tits that overshadow her acting abilities. I can't wait to see both of them tear it up in "Wicked Lake".

The music was perfect, the amount of gore was adequate, and the ending will definitely stick with you for awhile. A good job, but I was slightly underwhelmed and not as overly impressed as I thought I would be.

Am I supposed to believe that, since Ray Pye puts crushed up beer cans in his boots to look taller that he does what he does because of short man's syndrome?

Or is it because he brazenly wears black eyeliner which is in direct contrast to the rest of his look which is decidedly 50s greaser?

Either way? Don't care.

It was kind of scary even watching him get more and more psycho, excellent acting there. I just wish the middle of the movie didn't drag so much or it would have received a higher rating from me.

It was so insane and upsetting but so well done. Marc Senter is a fantastic actor and I hope to see more of him

It's a moving piece of work if you can take it. Not for the weak of heart. Pretty repulsive. Makes you stare into the face of low-flying, bored evil and hold it. Remarkable.
