The story may be aimless at one point, but the magic is enough to make me feel young again, without being childish.
Ponyo is very great animation for kids, very beautiful with a nice story but still...Not the Miyazaki masterpiece. :(

Its such a beautiful film and well worth the watch. Had a cute little love story put in, one that isnt drastically over done. I think the best part is that it always feels original and something refreshing to watch, especially with all the creatures and words he puts into his films.
Absolutely wonderful, it captured my attention through out the whole movie and captured the best part of a person.
To truly enjoy his stories you have to take a leap of faith and just absorb the world he creates. Anyone who has seen (Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Howl's Moving Castle and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind) will truly appreciate yet another masterful work by a great director.
Don't be fooled by it being a cartoon, such work and detail goes into creating these films, these are not just for the kids, they touch on deep meaningful themes and present them artistically.
Just had to edit in that ive been thinking about this film all day since watching it and i have to go watch it again simply because it is a beautifully animated movie and it needs a second watch just to take in all the landscapes, colours and sounds...dam i really want to go for a swim now but i'll settle for watching this film again :D
Mother nature vs. Nurture vs. the essence of the human spirit & the epitome of unconditional love. This is a film is one of my favorites!
Gorgeous underwater scenes and a very cute movie overall, but I thought the plot was somewhat less coherent than previous Miyazaki films.
PONYO! One of the best animated films of the year, and pretty much up there with the best films of the year.
What turns me off is the fact that the boy falls in love with a fish! Though the whole fairy tale theme is very entertaining
Another lovely adventure from Miyazaki. He's without a doubt one of the best animation directors in the history of filmmaking! :-)
Another excellent fun family film from Ghibli. Do yourself a favour and don't watch the English dubbed version though.

But it's still good; Miyazaki does his magic again.

Ponyo hasn't changed my mind about Miyazaki. But I'm willing to accept and enjoy this little window into the dream life of fish.full review
Hayao Miyazaki's magical Ponyo blends fantasy with just a drop of reality, and the result is irresistible.full review
With its ever-shifting world and palpable sense of magic, Ponyo captures the wonder of being a child.full review
This poetic, visually breathtaking work by the greatest of all animators has such deep charm that adults and children will both be touched. It's wonderful and never even seems to try: It unfolds fantastically.full review
With a starry, first-rate voice cast and the shortened name, this Disney-fied version remains a magnificent animation wonder and a pure delight.full review
When Miyazaki makes films that decry the threat to the natural world, every molecule onscreen resonates with that belief -- a belief that dissolves the boundaries between form and content.full review
