la storia è bellissima e significativa, molto simbolica. La regia è studiata benissimo, nulla è al caso, anche il montaggio. Davvero un ottimo film, come più se ne vedono.

Beautifully executed tale about a homeless man, Andreas (Rutger Hauer), living in Paris who's one day given 200 francs by a stranger. Suddenly his life takes a turn for the better. A number of fortunate coincidences follow. Andreas comes to believe that he's been blessed and he dies a happy drunk. Based on a short story by Joseph Roth. Rutger Hauer's best role ever; it may be the finest acting in the history of movies. Yeah, it's that good. I must've seen it at least 20 times. Wonderful use of Stravinsky's music. Also stars Anthony Quayle (in one of his last roles), Sandrine Dumas (from Kieslowski's Double Vie de Veronique) and Jeunet regular Dominique Pinon.
