A contemporary Native Indian drama set in a small town in Northern Minnesota located on the outskirts of a reservation. The story begins after a small...(read more...) earthquake near the town registers on the U.S. Richter scale. Luke Patterson, a field officer for the government, is sent to investigate. There, he discovers a town that is experiencing dramatic geologic as well as political upheaval. For the first time ever, an Indian man is challenging the white incumbent in the mayoral race. The political contest uncovers dark hidden secrets about the town’s origins as it once hosted a Native Indian boarding school which housed hundreds of children who were taken from their homes and forced to assimilate into the white culture. Many children went missing and were never heard from again. The only person who can solve the mystery is a young Native Indian woman whose haunting visions reveal the unspeakable tragedy but cause her own life to be in danger.
