The battles where not impressive at all, but caste and and palaces are best among any other historical Indian movie, and so are the costumes.
In acting department, all are wonderful, specially the lead characters of course. Hritik Roshan, the high-tech thief of Dhoom 2, aimless young man of Lakshya, undeveloped minded kiddish man of Koi Mil Gayaa proves his maturity in such a mature role of Akbar the great. However the get-up artist was supposed to remove his trademark hairstyle completely.
Ashutosh Govarikar is really different than other Bollywood directors. After Lagaan, one again a nice movie on classic base.

Oh yeah and I can't stand Hrithik Roshan..so that didn't help at all either.
3,5/5. From the same director of "Lagaan", another epic movie through the history of India. Amazing photography, solid battle scenes, good-looking actors (acting is a different thing, though ;-)). Good to watch.

Ashutosh Gowarikar of LAGAAN & SWADES fame is a let-down this time. He really doesn't come up with a good script. Yes, the film looks very stylish with golds, mesmerizing costume, tuneful songs just like SANJAY LEELA BHANSALI's Devdas. BUT the story is uninteresting. The best part of the film is the performance from the.......................Supporting actors rather than Leads. HRITHIK ROSHAN doesn't look the character, his dialouge deilvery is poor and below the mark. It's however AISHWARIYA RAI BACHCHAN who succeeds in making a mark as the lovely Jodhaa. SONU SOOD ,ILA ARUN, NIKETAN DHEER hits a perfect note in their respective roles. A.R.Rahman's music is outstanding!!!!!. JODHAA-AKBAR is only for Hrithik & Aish die hard fan
