An awkward young Irish farm girl Kate Brady (Rita Tushingham of "A Taste of Honey") moves to Dublin and shares a room with funny, outgoing Baba Brenna...(read more...) n (Lyn Redgrave of "Georgy Girl"), where she soon meets Eugene Gaillard (Peter Finch) a middle-aged writer, who is immediately attracted to the shy and innocent Kate, ignoring the more sophisticated Baba. Tushingham and Redgrave teamed again three years later with the film's director Desmond Davis for "Smashing Time."
