Not only is it overly sentimental, it's overly sentimental about nothing, since quite honestly all the characters' emotions seem rather fickle. I've watched earthworms that were more unique than this movie's characters, and I've drunk distilled water that was thicker than this movie's plot. Meaningless obstacles and redundant themes peppered by ludicrously banal dialogue lead to an unsatisfying conclusion. The main character really doesn't do or present anything special, so it is confusing as to why the sea is so much in love with her. Likewise, the film doesn't do or present anything special, so it is even more confusing as to why this movie is so very much in love with itself.
