Still it was highly orginial and often quite heart felt. Don't expect it to be a full-on comedy because it's not. It is more a bitter sweet drama.

I thought this movie showed that Steve Coogan is more than just a funny brit and that Hilary Duff is more than Lizzy McGuire. The movie itself shows how hard of a life teenagers have now adays and how much they truly desire friendships with older peers. If you're a fan of any of the young actors involved or simply enjoy movies about trouble teens this one is for you.

By the time one gets the entire concept, there are so many pointless characters involved that you end getting absolutely confused. Most of the characters are left unexplained and you need to work extra hard just to realise whats happening and to whom. The movie had it's moments but they were too few and far between to make any difference. There were some notable performances from Olivia Thirlby, Josh Peck and Steve Coogan but on the whole, this was a major disappointment.
"What Goes Up" is a moving coming-of-age drama that will have you wondering what the movie is exactly about for days...
It is simply the best Hilary Duff movie to date and a non-typical teen drama...

This movie actually inspired me to start my first short film, "The Ex-Man".
Watch it today before tomorrow; watch it more than one time.
UNDERSTAND it and you'll know it's MORE than something...
This movie was kindof confusing to understand what was going on but other than that Hilary Duff, Josh Peck and Steve Coogan did an awesome job in the movie and that's why I'm giving it 4 1/2 stars
