Silly and stupid, with a lot of bad acting. There are some truly bafflingly terrible scenes in this film.
However, Shyamalan is still capbable of creating some nice suspense sequences, so the film can't completely be dismissed.
"cok sorgulama; izle ve git" demisler... yedik yine omrumuzden iki saat :(

Night Shyamalan (save for Lady in the Water) so I went into this film with moderate expectations. I love the filmmaker's ability to invoke creepy moods and an ominous atmosphere, and he does not disappoint with "The Happening" The problem is, however, that Shyamalan has major weaknesses in most other areas of filmmaking, and while with his previous efforts his storytelling ability was able to overcome these weaknesses, such is NOT the case here. The writing is silly, bordering on campy; the actors are mismatched; the pace is meandering, even at a skimpy 90 minute running length, and while there are some genuinely creepy parts, for most of it's length the movie features characters looking worriedly into the camera, followed by frantic running, followed by more worried looks, some obvious dialogue, insert random colorful character, kill them off, then more running, more worried looks. Repeat for 90 minutes.

El gran problema que tiene es que no te explica que coño pasa. Lo deja todo a tu imaginación y claro, cuando acaba la peli te quedas con un WTF! en la mente que no sabes si has visto algo que te gusta o te han tomado el pelo...
I know everybody isn't sold on M. Night Shyamalan, I'm sold hook line and sinker. I also rate Mark Wahlberg as one of the most intelligent action heroes of recent times, provided you forgive him Max Payne.

See this movie and all others by Shyamalan.
Don't get me started on this. Worst film ever made, Wahlberg can't act for shit, the screenplay is disjointed, Leguizamo's character is o.t.t. Good idea, but a bad script poorly cast and executed
I thought this movie was gonna be Shyamalan's come back but unfortunately it did not live up to his good movies 6th Sense and Unbreakable. The old lady in the house was scary and good but other than her the movie was real shit.l
love manoj, but this is horrible. horrible dialogue and acting, in particular.
m night shyamalan makin lama makin aneh aja ceritanya.. sayang banget..padahal aktornya udah pool banget!
Not my favorite of the M. Night Shyamalan movies, and I wasn't quite sure what to make of it when all was said and done, but I was certainly on the edge of my seat.
Critic Reviews
The Happening is an awful letdown, yet it leaves you with something new, as a gently waving tree -- that classical image of pastoral tranquillity -- mutates into a harbinger of doom.full review
A better title for M. Night Shyamalan's The Happening would be Nonsense. It's like an amusement park ride that has no reason for being -- and no meaning -- besides visceral excitation. Only difference is that The Happening isn't fun.full review
All that's missing is the head alien of Plan 9 From Outer Space dropping by to lecture the populace for disrespecting nature: 'Your stupid minds! Stupid! Stupid!'full review
Woeful clunker of a paranoid thriller.full review
Shyamalan tries to give the events a scientific underpinning. But his logic is spotty, so what are meant to be eerie moments are not convincing.full review
It's an entertaining movie, which is half the game, but it's not scary, which it should be. Neither is it something to be taken seriously, though it's intended to be.full review
The attention paid to [Wahlberg and Deschanel's] piddling relationship woes vs. the entire fate of humanity is absurd. We never feel persuaded that they have a bond, much less invested in seeing them patch it up.full review
Shyamalan's approach is more effective than smash-and-grab plot-mongering. His use of the landscape is disturbingly effective. The performances by Wahlberg and Deschanel bring a quiet dignity to their characters.full review
...bad in more than just an everyday, sure-does-suck kind of way.full review
If what audiences are looking for is a thrill ride, or even a pervasive eeriness, The Happening's just not happening.full review
