A good romantic comedy/drama, with a great cast, young and older.

And the final scene is on a road I've walked along many a time, which is always nice to see on the screen.

Another excellent British romantic comedy/drama. I quite enjoyed it and was absorbed into the movie from beginning to end.

i really enjoyed this movie. while the tangle between characters may seem a little unreal, their underlying stories and emotions are what we can relate to and keeps the movie grounded.

(read more) A charming, warm-hearted British romantic comedy in which some wonderful performances from the older actors compensate for a somewhat contrived and implausible storyline. The young couple at the centre of the film seem rather bland and shallow next to Bob Hoskins's lovelorn landlord, Stockard Channing's seductive, predatory PR executive and Lesley Manville's ambitious pub singer, all superb portayals of very real-seeming people. I didn't know for sure that the script had come from improvisation until after I saw the film, but I guessed - there are too many unlikely character traits and improbable plot twists shoehorned in, a common problem with devised or workshopped writing. But Hoskins and Manville are touching, Channing is sexy and sinister, and Anthony Head's gleeful turn as the leading lady's camp gay uncle is worth the price of admission in itself.

A dleightful film. Stockard Channing stole it as the hardened PR executive. Bob Hoskins was fun, and also a great cameo performance from Anthony Head.

This is reli a not bad English movie! n it's quite touching at the end ... well, at least for me! Nice!
