This is third film in the Apu trilogy. It took my emotions on a rollercoaster ride. The end! What will happen to Apu down the road? Has he finally learned selflessness? No more tragedy... please!

This is favourite of the Apu Triology. If possible watch the version with Director's cut. The explaination makes it even interesting.

Satyajit Ray's Apu trilogy is one of the crowning achievements of cinema. Ravi Shankar's soundtrack is engaging in an of itself. Although part of a larger story this film stands firmly on its own.

Very manipulative (hasn't Apu had enough grief by now?), but the romance (brief as it is) is so touching. Also wonderful photography throughout, with a nice mixture of rural and urban scenes.

Wow. Simple, tragic, beautiful. Incredible story and acting make this perhaps the finest movie trilogy ever made. I look forward to tracking down Satyajit Ray's other works.
