When Sophie is suddenly kidnapped, they have no choice but to comply with the abductors demands. The kidnapper--Tom Ryan, a cold and calculating sociopath takes over their lives with the brutal efficiency of someone who has nothing to lose. In the blink of an eye Neil and Abby's safe and secure existence is turned upside down. Over the next 24 hours they are at the mercy of a man who wants only one thing: that they do his bidding. It soon becomes clear that Ryan's demands are all the more terrifying... because he doesn't want their money. What he wants is for Neil and Abbyís life, the life that they have built over 10 years, to be systematically dismantled and destroyed--piece by piece. With time running out on their little girl, Neil and Abby realize their nightmare is about to take its most deadly turn: They will have to face Ryan's final, horrifying challenge--would they kill an innocent man to save their own child?

terrible. slightly suspenseful at times, but not enough to be a good movie. crap ending too.
Pierce brosnan sounds ridiculous throughout in a desperate attempt to lose the Bond stigma. The idea is fairly good and it makes for a decent thriller aside from the twist(s) at the end, one of which i had an inkling of but discounted in terms of it being ridiculous. the first twist is fine, if a little silly, but the second one just stretches reality too far. I mean what are the chances of there being too nutcases like that in such close proximity? Both must clearly be batshit crazy and the assumption has to be they were always like that in which case the victims are partially absolved. I love a twist but I hate twists that are only there for the sake of it. those twists ruin a film rather than elevate it.

Smart and clever, didn't really see the end coming but it was impactful (that not a word) and a great concept. Well developed, well acted by everyone and it keeps you on the edge of your sit. Kinda suprised I never heard about the film before, especially since everyone knows who Pierce Brosnan is. I wasn't all that thrilled with the second ending/explaination, I was able to see that one coming but I didn't see the first ending/explaination coming.
What a awesome edge of your seat thiller, had me captured the moment it started, ... I believe everyone needs to see it at least once,
A variation on the 'Ransom' theme with a few more twists than you expect. It does become more conventional as they are revealed but Brosnan revels in his bad-guy role and despite it being rather low-key does feel fresh throughout.
this is a cunningly clever way to get a point across to someone else. i was surprised at the ending but pleasantly so

Brosnan as the husband looking for cold vengeance is definitely miscast and this is just another role to add to his list of bad choices since his 007 career ended. Butler's career in Hollywood has taken off in recent years, and I'd put his name into the hat as a potential future James Bond, but this won't be a film he looks back on too fondly.
Si l'on ne compte pas les 5 dernieres minutes - qui donnent juste envie de dire "tout ca pour ca" - voila un thriller assez haletant et qui ne lache jamais prise. Great film, with an unpredictable twist at the end. (Well, it was unpredictable for me, who didn't know there was a twist at the end, but now I've just told you there's a twist I guess it's pretty obvious...)
