When Sophie is suddenly kidnapped, they have no choice but to comply with the abductors demands. The kidnapper--Tom Ryan, a cold and calculating sociopath takes over their lives with the brutal efficiency of someone who has nothing to lose. In the blink of an eye Neil and Abby's safe and secure existence is turned upside down. Over the next 24 hours they are at the mercy of a man who wants only one thing: that they do his bidding. It soon becomes clear that Ryan's demands are all the more terrifying... because he doesn't want their money. What he wants is for Neil and Abbyís life, the life that they have built over 10 years, to be systematically dismantled and destroyed--piece by piece. With time running out on their little girl, Neil and Abby realize their nightmare is about to take its most deadly turn: They will have to face Ryan's final, horrifying challenge--would they kill an innocent man to save their own child?

Gerard Butler humiliated, belittled and made to feel like NOTHING for 98 minutes? I am so this film's target audience!
a kind of typical end-twist thriller. It builds up nicely but the implausible ending is straight out of bad-horror-movie-twist rap ups. The performances and production are satisfactory enough to give the impresion the film was intended for theaters, ... (read more) a kind of typical end-twist thriller. It builds up nicely but the implausible ending is straight out of bad-horror-movie-twist rap ups. The performances and production are satisfactory enough to give the impresion the film was intended for theaters, but Gerard Butler as kind of weak struggling with an American accent, Pierce Bronsans remains the most watchable presence here
Clever. What a lesson to the unfaithful! Some gripping tension moments well pulled through!
pretty good thriller...dont know how i missed this in the theater. id recommend it.
Decent thriller that takes a little while to get into! Hang in there, though, as the twists are well worth waiting for!
Hadn't heard of thisuntil the lady in my rental store recommended it: it really quite good!!!
terrible. slightly suspenseful at times, but not enough to be a good movie. crap ending too.
Pierce brosnan sounds ridiculous throughout in a desperate attempt to lose the Bond stigma. The idea is fairly good and it makes for a decent thriller aside from the twist(s) at the end, one of which i had an inkling of but discounted in terms of it ... The idea is fairly good and it makes for a decent thriller aside from the twist(s) at the end, one of which i had an inkling of but discounted in terms of it being ridiculous. the first twist is fine, if a little silly, but the second one just stretches reality too far. I mean what are the chances of there being too nutcases like that in such close proximity? Both must clearly be batshit crazy and the assumption has to be they were always like that in which case the victims are partially absolved. I love a twist but I hate twists that are only there for the sake of it. those twists ruin a film rather than elevate it.
