Got to love those B movie. You got actors from Star Terk Voyager and CSI New York and Lost, that is enough reason to watch this movie.

... what a "B" movie. It entertained me for 2 hours... not exactly top-notch, but that's the definition OF a B-movie!! Awesome!

Well... mmm... it's bad really... I should stop myself before watching these. The beast looked like the barrier guardians from Ghostbusters 1, but that was a really good movie! and this one well, belongs in the trash.

SciFi continues their "Let's turn every mythical monster in existence into a movie" trend by bringing this Middle Eastern chimeric monstrosity to life. The result is...honestly better than a lot of the dreck that SciFi Originals throws at us. But it's still not up to snuff.
Heather Donahue continues to bank off of her Blair Witch notirety for minor success and the rest of the cast is interchangeable. The story here is taking a topical premise (the war in the Middle East) and dropping dollops of supernatural flavoring on it. What we get is some halfway decent gore, an ok finale and a suitably decent looking beast (where it not for the now standard low quality SciFi CGI). The Manticore is quite accurate, even pulling the spine-shooting ability out of myth and lore.
There's not much to the film because it really is just what it seems to be: a body-count creature feature with poor effects. But decent gore, a brisk pace and a realtively solid looking monster keep this one from the depths that these films have plunged before.

Probably the best Sci-Fi Channel movie I've seen. The story is kind of a cool idea. I wish they'd had the money to do some better CG.
