A resistance is organized around César (Dominique Pinon), a psychopath manipulator. But its authority it's called into question by the arrival of Saint Georges (Lambert Wilson), a mysterious prisoner possessed by a secret force which he will learn how to control, using it to face the hostility of his fellow prisoners and to release them from the maleficent attraction of Dante.
