(read more) An odd but pleasant comedy that has the guts to be something completely different. “The Darjeeling Limited” is a “track movie” about three brothers who travel to India after their father’s passing with the goal of experiencing a spiritual journey. Everything in the flick is quircky and unusual, the scenes almost dreamlike in their subtle absurdity. And it just works out so well!

I’m not sure if there really is much real content here, but I don’t even care too much as the presentation is so very enchanting and interesting. And I never knew Owen Wilson could act before seeing him here. “The Darjeeling Limited” proves that style and atmosphere can make a movie and make it so that the viewer is kept genuinely interested throughout the exercise. Bravo!

Again, not sure if I like a Wes Anderson film. It seemed like interesting/funny things might have been happening but weren't.

for this whole film I was expecting Natalie Portman to show up... and then she just flew past the screen for half a second and then you don't see her again, haha

The new 20th Century-Fox Home Video release of "The Darjeeling Limited" offers quite a conundrum for fans of Wes Anderson...

The Darjeeling Limited works best when the level of artifice is at its highest and most overt.

A better film [than Life Aquatic], warmer, more engaging, funnier and very surrounded by India, that nation of perplexing charm.

The magically compelling Darjeeling Limited strikes me as the fullest blossoming yet of Anderson's talents as a total filmmaker.

Unstintingly fussy, vain and self-regarding. But it is also a treasure: an odd, flawed, but nonetheless beautifully handmade object as apt to win affection as to provoke annoyance. You might say that it has sentimental value.
