Everything in the flick is quircky and unusual, the scenes almost dreamlike in their subtle absurdity. And it just works out so well!
Iâm not sure if there really is much real content here, but I donât even care too much as the presentation is so very enchanting and interesting. And I never knew Owen Wilson could act before seeing him here. âThe Darjeeling Limitedâ proves that style and atmosphere can make a movie and make it so that the viewer is kept genuinely interested throughout the exercise. Bravo!
Owen Wilson is funny as he tries to dictate what everyone does; there's a good sequence towards the end where you see what all the secondary characters are doing---its a montage done in a way where it looks like everyone's on a train; amusing charact... Again, not sure if I like a Wes Anderson film. It seemed like interesting/funny things might have been happening but weren't.
for this whole film I was expecting Natalie Portman to show up... and then she just flew past the screen for half a second and then you don't see her again, haha
Good movie but a little bit slow in places. Does make me want to go to India though!
Didn't like the plot much. Yet enjoyed their funny activities in the train and it is nice to know that most of the soundtracks were directly taken from the films of Satyajit Ray.

Critic Reviews
The new 20th Century-Fox Home Video release of "The Darjeeling Limited" offers quite a conundrum for fans of Wes Anderson...full review
The Darjeeling Limited works best when the level of artifice is at its highest and most overt.full review
A better film [than Life Aquatic], warmer, more engaging, funnier and very surrounded by India, that nation of perplexing charm.full review
The magically compelling Darjeeling Limited strikes me as the fullest blossoming yet of Anderson's talents as a total filmmaker.full review
Unstintingly fussy, vain and self-regarding. But it is also a treasure: an odd, flawed, but nonetheless beautifully handmade object as apt to win affection as to provoke annoyance. You might say that it has sentimental value.
A wonderful mix of humor and humanity, vintage Wes Anderson that's fine and funny as he takes us on a soul searching magical mystery tour.full review
Anderson is still a maddeningly cool filmmaker. He's remote from his characters, which makes him remote from his movies. There's also a way in which he uses race as a novelty, suggesting an assertively white-kid view of the world.full review
The Darjeeling Limited is so reflective of personal experience (within the context of rarefied pop antecedents) that it returns common emotional power to today's fragmented, disingenuous popular culture.full review
Hit and miss, but its tone of lyric melancholy is remarkably sustained.full review
