Nearly a vignette piece, Inglorious Bastards remains constantly exciting as it follows its limited cast from desertion to final battle, and is not without its fair share of intricately choreographed set pieces which break up the war/action atmosphere nicely without getting lost in their own episodic narratives. Skillfully acted, filmed, and timed, this is a film which both commands and rewards your attention.

Pretty fuckin' cool. I would have loved this if it was done with some better actors. Each of the characters was played by someone who seemed like the B-List counterpart to someone who would really excel in the role.

(read more) The Italians are great interpreters of the Western and Horror genres, it was only a matter of time before they put their spin on the War epic, and Inglorious Bastards is just that, an epic of a film. During World War II, a group of American deserters are being sent to be court marshaled, but their trip is cut short by German attacks, so they ban together to head to the Switzerland border, but come across all sorts of violent shenanigans along the way. The film is terrific and the characters are a lot of fun to watch (particularly Bo Svenson and Fred Williamson's characters). The film also has a huge ass body and bullet count, along with some pretty fun to watch warfare. There is even a dash of comedy to be found about. I'm kinda crushed with having to find out that this movie existed and that Quentin Tarantino was remaking it. I always though that that was an original idea of his. Oh well, his will have a unique spin on it that I'm sure will do this film justice. Good movie.

It's the first WWII movie I have ever seen that isn't focused on the brutality of war. It is a story of a group of escaped American prisoners who one day were facing a court marshal and the next find themselves working together to kill Nazi's and earn immunity for their crimes. Quite entertaining and very colorful characters. Probably the best description would be the A Team takes on Nazi Europe. I can totally see why QT picked this one to remake and I cannot wait to see what he does with it.

A Fun Romp...but uneven when it takes itself too seriously. There are some suprisingly good action sequences and plot twists to keep things interesting. Fred Williamson steals the show.
