Robert Downey jr. was born to Tony Stark and is fun to watch (and he even looks close to his comic book counterpart) and steals the show (as he should) in every scene. It's also nice that one concentrate on the man under the suit as Iron Man is not a traditional hero in any sense. Iron Man is just a powersuit made by an inventor who decide to drop his weapons inventing to do good. This is all nice as when we finally get to to the scenes where Iron Man fight, flies or do something I got interested in the effects scenes. Gwyneth Paltrow is a surprise in a foxy supporting role and she and Downey jr. have sparkingly chemistry together. Jeff Bridges' villainous role starts out as a laughably bad and one-note role untill he shows his true colors and actually grows up to be fascinating. He looks great though with shaved head and beard. There is a lot of cool effect and explosion effects, but the best computer sequences involve Iron Man actually flying. They are possibly the best "flying man" scenes since Richard Donner's "Superman" movie and you feel both the danger and joy of flying. But it's Tony Stark's journey to become this superhero that's the main attraction of this film and it's hugely enjoyable while at the same time being a kick in the side on American weapon industry and the current Afghanistan conflict that could easily have felt laughable, cruel or tasteless, but feel completely right for this film and Stark's first step to become Iron Man. Roll on the next one. This one make you want to see another one.
Deffinetly one of the best comic book adaptions. I can't wait for a sequal! Gwyneth Paltrow was stunning and loved the special effects and storyline! The costume was awsome!
Phenomenal, THE definitive superhero ovie if you ask me. Its only competition the Dark Knight. Seriously Spidy who???
Great movie.... Awesome acting by Robert Downey Jr. He totally took on the role of Tony Stark. Loved the fight scenes. Graphics were outstanding.
As much as I like Robert Downey Jr. and Jeff Bridges this has to be one of the most overrated films of recent times. While funny in parts the story is pretty poor and overall a big big disappointment.

Iron Man is an unusually good superhero picture. Or at least -- since it certainly has its problems -- a superhero movie that's good in unusual ways.
