Omg, lol, just to see the Cusack siblings in a movie together is a treat. It didn't quite meet my expectations and I pretty much always hate Marisa Tomei but I still liked it.
Strangelove meets Idiocracy meets Lord of War meets Hitchhiker's Guide. I don't understand why it got such a low review.
If it wasn't trying to be so much like Grosse Point Blank, with most of the same actors and half the humor, I might have liked it more.

When one looks at Dr Strangelove, for example, we see a pitch black comedy with some of the most outrageous and hilarious performances Peter Sellers ever delivered. I had fairly high hopes for War, Inc; as I entertained the notion that it share a similar style to Grosse Point Blank - a film that I rather enjoyed. Certainly John Cusack seemed to be reprising the laid-back hit man role that he suited so well in that movie, and Dan Akroyd was also in it. Unfortunately, what War, Inc. did not share with that movie was any of it's style, charm and most importantly humour.
I'm not sure what went wrong, but it seems that the makers of this film took it upon themselves to create one hell of a disjointed mess. The screenplay is dreadful and the attempts at lampooning private military contractors falls flat due to an utter lack of wit or subtlety in the attempt. Every situation is contrived and every joke is rubbed in your face until what small trace of humour might have existed has long worn away. All that remains is confusion and a slightly sick feeling in the pit of your stomach that you are watching a worse film comedy than Stephen Spielberg's 1941. Avoid this dross...
A mess of a comedy where I didn't even crack a smile, let alone laugh, once.
wants to be Grosse Point Blank 2, but just reminds you how great that film truly was. mind you Hilary Duff is fit in it, and Marisa Tomei has to be the sexiest 40+ actress working today

Piercingly funny political satire with terrific cast is on view in this future-set story.full review
War, Inc. fires off dozens of lethal dialogue squibs like 'War is the improvement of investments using other means,' but it doesn't connect them into anything that can truly rattle an audience's complacency.full review
A brave and ambitious but chaotic attempt at political satire.full review
This non-nihilistic film is a vision of our political complicity and humane potential.full review
Though it occasionally tries too hard, the fast-paced and sharply written War, Inc. is audacious and entertaining.full review
The story fairly zings along in War, Inc. as Hauser struggles to complete the mission he does not believe in, woo the reporter who despises him, and watch over the vile teenage singer (Duff) he feels an unexplainable fondness for.full review
If Harold & Kumar feels deliberately dumbed down, War, Inc. tries too desperately to show off its intelligence.full review
