I saw that the Heroes chick was involved and was ready to really hate it. But this was actually a good movie about Asian American self-identity.
The lead pair is charming and that's about the only thing that saves a highly mediocre story. Shanghai and the Chinese life is portrayed in a rather shallow, stereotyped way.
A really sweet love story about not knowing what you have until it's nearly too late! Panettiere was gorgeous as always and convincingly portrayed a light bubbly teenager who always looks on the bright side. A great film.
Some good scenes but time to time I'm really disturbed by the lead actor and his overacting. The storyline is little bit wierd and it's not taking your heart as it should. But okay movie.
Good movie and story. Makes me wanna go to Shanghai. Kelly Hu's hot, even w/ a fake fob accent. Gotta love a movie where the cast is an average looking asian guy and a bunch of hot women.
Very moving with good performances. Slightly disturbing that the main character (in his mid-to-late 20's) falls for a 16 year old.
I was surprised at the depth of this movie. The struggles that Leung's character goes through feel real.
I really, really liked this. It might be the only movie that I immediately watched a 2nd time after watching it for the first time.
Glad to finally see an Asian guy as a romantic lead! That's rare enough. Otherwise it was a fun watch.
