Glenn Carter does a great job as Jesus (even if at times his falsetto grates). Jerome Pradon takes a lot of getting used to, but his portrayal of Judas as a spoiled child is new and, truth be told, what Tim Rice envisioned while writing the lyrics. Mary is fabulous, and Pilate is phenomenal. Though "King Herod's Song" is sickeningly awful, the rest of the film compensates.

I am sure the Broadway production is great, but I just could not get myself to continue watching the movie after the first 10 minutes.

If you could combine the strong points of the '73 film with the strong points of this one, an excellent movie would result. As they are, both versions have fundamental failings yet great moments.

Stage settings, sound, cameras and atmosphere makes this version worth all my five stars.

Based on the Musical and the first movie in the 70ies, this is a masterpiece of rock sound showing the last 6 days of jesus on earth, from judas point of view!! Great stuff...
