Sick of the examinations he underwent as a child and the interest of the government and medical establishment in his power, he lies low under an assumed name in Vegas, performing cheap tricks and living off small-time gambling "winnings." But when a terrorist group threatens to detonate a nuclear device in Los Angeles, government agent Callie Ferris must use all her wiles to capture Cris and convince him to help her stop the cataclysm.

TBS (or maybe TNT) played this non-stop last week. I caught it in two viewings, about two days apart. That extra time let me really savor the little things in this film. Biel is tremendous; it was like watching a lifeless Barbie come to life. Only to then die again right before your eyes. Julianna Moore was wonderfully cutting edge as a government agent. The real kudos should go to Nic Cage's hairdo. Let it be known that his long locks carried this movie. Period, end of sentence. His hair stole scene after scene. It was reminiscent of Jack Nicholson's role of the Joker in Tim Burton's Batman. I can't express the magnitude of the performance Nic Cage's hair gave. Not to be overlooked, was a small yet pivotal role by none other than Peter Falk. So next time you have nothing to watch, make time for NEXT, you won't regret it.
gelecegi gorebilmek ... ve bu sayede aski bulmak :) dahasi basa gelebilecek birçok olay ... " zamaniniza yazik etmemis olursunuz :) " tarafimdan tavsiye edilir.. özellikle jessica biel :)
its hard what to make of this one. nic cage gives quite an appealing performance but the film was dire. it was written by the author of the "minority report" which was brilliant but i feel the directing and the supporting cast were to blame. julianne... Exciting to watch! I just can't get into the love story because Nicolas Cage is SO GREASY in this film, but the action is fun and Julianne Moore baaasically kicks arse.
Critic Reviews
Next features Nicolas Cage as a clairvoyant who can see events before they occur. If anyone on the production team had similar abilities, they could have foreseen that the film was a folly in the making.full review
"Next" isn't as flamboyantly bad as Cage's last movie, "Ghost Rider" (which made a ton of money, something this pro forma outing is unlikely to do). Once you know the rules, it's hardly worth playing. Especially when you find out you've been tricked.full review
Late in the movie, Cris shouts at a bad guy, 'I've seen every possible ending here. None of them are good for you.' It's as if he's talking to the audience, and alas, he's right.full review
It [explores] different facets of its premise and transforms itself into a fairly competent suspense thriller.full review
Cage is cool, quiet and a touch melancholy as Johnson -- carrying the burden of his gift with a brooding brow and a ready punch line.full review
It doesn't have the momentum, the quick-wittedness, to keep us wondering what's going to happen next.full review
We will use our own powers of clairvoyance to predict a mercifully short life in theatres and a quick trip to the DVD shelves.full review
