An amazing film about a woman who fought for her dream. A truly remarkable singer, Edith Piaf became a French legend, and won over the world with her voice. A fantastic movie, I really enjoyed it.
Marion Cotillard played the role of the French sensation Edith Piaf...and she was absolutely mesmerizing in doing so. Her passion, love, and conviction, not only in singing, but in life itself, was delightful to watch.
A well-deserved Oscar win.
Wow, I didn't recognised Piaf was acted by Marion Cotillard until I search about this movie.
Great acting.
Non mais quelle actrice cette Marion...
Et quelle femme cette Piaf!!!!
Mon meilleur film des deux dernières années....
Deeply tragic and hard to watch, like a car crash in slow motion, but with a strange air of beauty. The leading lady is absolutely incredible, one of the best performance I've ever seen in a film, mind blowing!
As has been mentioned a thousand times, the central performance of Cotillard is magnificent, and the film is worth watching just for her alone. After watching the film, and very much enjoying it, I read some reviews of the film by the English press. I was irritated by the tirade of damning criticism of not only the film, but even of the life of Edith Piaf. It seemed like a wave of misplaced, anti-French sentiment that failed to acknowledge the elements of the film that are excellent, and instead focused on only the faults. There are some instances in the film where certain characters are introduced without warning, and other characters are merely gleamed over in the films helter skelter like pace. There are faults, but the film is honest, and her life WAS helter skelter. A crazy amount of people filtered through her life, some discarded in a whim, others who managed to hang on for a mere few weeks. The film captured this with style and intelligence. There are some truly exceptional moments in the film, and the editing at times is exquisite. I think any film which deals with the life of a person who had so many relationships with men, who had a terrible drug dependency, and still maturely chooses to only briefly outline this instead of making it a prominent subject in the film, deserves adulation. Well done Dahan.

I didn't read Edith Piaf's real biography, if there's one in French. Her talent, and how her life crossed a troubling period in France during war time was truly fascinating. The fact that her live performance can be found on youtube and we can to hear her singing is truly wonderful.
i always in love with every movie with a struggle-in-life theme on it, you're a beauty Marion!

It's early for Oscar baiting but Marion Cotillard's performance as Édith Piaf in La Vie En Rose puts itself on the hook.full review
... Marion Cotillard, lip-syncing Piaf's songs and digging into her soul with gale-force urgency, gives a performance for the ages.full review
Dahan and Cotillard have created an amazing biopic of an extraordinary voice attached to a fragile and fallible woman.full review
La Vie en Rose has some peculiar ellipses.full review
A remarkable portrait by Marion Cotillard so uncannily rich and detailed it defies description. Screen acting just doesn't get much better than this.full review
There's a riveting tale within this awkward litany of pivotal moments. Still, despite the film's uneven nature, Cotillard's extraordinary performance is worth experiencing.full review
It is hard not to admire Ms. Cotillard for the discipline and ferocity she brings to the role. But it is equally hard to be completely swept up in Mr. Dahan's dutiful, functional and ultimately superficial film.
[Director Dahan's] approach draws more attention to the filmmaking than it does to the life. Dahan seems to believe that chronology is bourgeois: Pure storytelling is all fine and dandy, but he wants us to know he's making art.full review
