it's ok, true story, bit slow, not that great in terms of this kinda rescue stories in vietnam.
Bien rodada, mantiene el ritmo y cuenta con el habitual aliciente de ser una historia real y la particularidad de los inevitables paralelismos con la dramatica realidad actual de las selvas colombianas...

Having read the book, and seen Herzog's earlier documentary on the same subject I found this inevitably familiar. It's impossible to know whether the decisions over Bale's portrayal of Dengler were suggested by the Hollywood studio, but even if they were, to the uninitiated his performance was strong. I couldn't help thinking of the real Dieter Dengler though. Zahn and Davies were both very good and totally committed to the task. The ending - a little too Top Gun for me.
This is a strong film, with powerful performances but it is Herzog-lite.

On a brighter note,Steve Zahn's performance is utterly riveting.
A slow paced, but harrowing look at the experiences of pilot Dieter Dengler after being shot down and captured in Vietnam. Christian Bale is in top form, as always.
this movie is fairly enjoyable, Christian Bale does a great job on this one... though the movie can get over too much of the same scene sometimes. If that makes any sense to you
Better than other Vietnam war movies like Full metal Jacket & Platoon
Crazy and very good movie! Boring in the first half but the ending is worth it. For sure a feel good movie! And every actor was awesome.

Rescue Dawn may not feel much like a Herzog movie, but it's a gripping real-life thriller.full review
Herzog shows all of this with a fresh, observant eye. While sadism is a staple of most POW movies, Herzog focuses on the punishing tedium and deprivation of confinement. And filming on location in Thailand gives the film a harshly sensual look.full review
If Rescue Dawn isn't about heroism, then it's about something deeper, more primitive: survival instinct.full review
Those coming to Rescue Dawn cold will probably accept it as a straightforward, even predictable account of POW suffering, and they'll hang on Bale's muscular portrayal of a man who refuses to say die.full review
Rescue Dawn's late-coming Vietnam war story -- [Werner] Herzog's first American drama -- is his best film since his great 1970s period.full review
A harrowing and inspiring tale of courage and endurance. It shows us the best in ourselves.full review
What a sweet collision is Rescue Dawn: the American psycho meets the German kook.full review
[Rescue Dawn] offers its own vision of deprivation but doesn't linger long enough, even mid-jungle, to leave us in the kind of directionless trance that was conjured by Aguirre and Every Man for Himself.full review
The film, Rescue Dawn, is so good it makes you wish that [director Werner] Herzog had gone Hollywood earlier in his career.full review
