It has a great story, which talks about many issues of love, and presented in a musical, sometimes weird, but easy to understand way. It's not an average movie with love story I'd say, but I like it!

Across The Universe clearly isn't the best film ever, no where close, but it is thoroughly enjoyable and fun to watch. The interpretations of these legendary songs are entertaining and interesting and the cast does well enough. A stand out cast-wise for me is definitely Joe Anderson, who I thought was the best and who I really hope gets a decent shot in the industry. The cameos gallore got a little boring after awhile for me, but overall I really liked this film.
my wedding revolved around this soundtrack...how do you think i rated it??!!! LOVE IT!!!!
ugh....all the goodness dries up about half way through. Once it becomes political it's all over.
Beautifully shot ode to the music of the Beatles and the time of social revolution. The film gets a bit lengthy, but the music is very well done and the visuals are great. Also, the cameo from Bono is wonderful!
This might be a sexist statement but I'll say it anyway because I have no shame: When the guys were on screen, it was funny and entertaining, but when women were on screen, it became stupid and drawn out. Across The Universe stars out well with some catchy tunes but I was snoring away by the second act and I just couldn't finish it. Jim Sturgess is a great actor and a great singer, but the movie was just too bland to keep my attention. I'm also a cynical teenager so that's probably why I didn't like it eiether. You would be better off listening to a Beatles record while watching 21 in the background than to waste 131 minutes of your life that you won't get back.
