happened to watch this again this week......love this movie! who doesn't Gerard Butler?! and Jeffrey Dean Morgan is another good one

Maybe it's my hatred for Swank. Maybe it's because I'm a man. Or maybe it's my lack of heart. What I do like is Ireland. And The Pogues. And Gerard Butler. There was some beauty. I just did not connect with the female pain. I can see how some girls would. I'm not going to totally condemn the movie though. I did enjoy some of it. Even Kudrow's stock lines.
It's definitely cheesy, but it works. It's got a nice combination of sad, cute, and funny. Enjoyable, but something you definitely need to be in the right mood to watch.
Excellent premise, detailed script, great actors, cliche story line. Overall, I enjoyed it and displayed a few bit of tears.
let me see one again and relize that how special you are in my life:x....
Makes you fall in love with Gerard Butler and the emerald isle all over again

It was such a good movie. I love how he left her instructions on how to get over him. I thought it was funny when Hilary and Harry kissed and discovered they were better off friends. It was a bit odd hearing James not talk with a British accent since I am so use to him as Spike on Buffy, but he was amazing in this film. The ending with the mom in Ireland was cute.
After reading the book I had to watch the movie! BAD misstake! I could count the things that actually is in the book on my five fingers.... Very disapointed! Maybee the movie would have been better without reading the book? Even so, I prefer the book... (read more) After reading the book I had to watch the movie! BAD misstake! Some actors are better suited to straight-ahead dramas. Swank appears to be one of them.full review
The talented Swank is slumming a bit here, but she could -- and has -- done worse.full review
In the grief-drenched romantic comedy P.S. I Love You, things are excruciatingly amiss, start to finish.full review
Who should be more insulted by P.S. I Love You: Women, who are portrayed as shrill, materialistic harpies who fall down regularly? Or men, who are shown to be at their most romantically attractive when they're dead?full review
There are many good actresses unsuited for romantic comedies, and Hilary Swank, despite her considerable talents, is one of them.full review
