A post Fast Times teen comedy written by Cameron Crowe. The characters were good. What ever happened to Jenny Wright?

This is not as good as "Fast...", but still there is the 80s high school charm in the ingrediences with a musical score by Eddie Van Halen. "The Wild Life" is set during the summer break of high school and it revolves around a few characters.
Bill (Eric Stoltz) is a clean cut guy that works at a bowling alley together with Tom (Chris Penn). Bill feels the need of finally getting his independence and he moves out from his parents house to rent his own place, which he ends up sharing with Tom. Bill still longs for his ex girlfriend Anita (Lea Thompson) who works at the local donut shop and is involved with an older guy who works as a cop. And Tom is trying to convince his girlfriend Eileen (Jenny Wright) that they should keep seeing each other, but Eileen do not want to put up with Toms immature behaviour anymore. At the same time Bills little brother Jim (Ilan Mitchell-Smith) is floating around in a world of the Vietnam war and doing small juvenile delinquent actions. These characters eventually manages to find solutions to their different problems by the end of the summer.
This is yet another movie I have not seen for many years, but it was nice to see it again. The person that stands out for me in this movie is Jenny Wright. She is an old favourite of mine. I can not get away from how striking she was back in the days. In "The Wild Life" she is just wow. Her hair, her appearance, her clothes, her manners. Very stunning and real in her acting. She had that great mix between beauty and vulnerability. It is a shame she just disapeared from the movie business, but luckily one can resee her in movies such as "The Wild Life".
"The Wild Life" qualifies nevertheless among the list of charming 80s high school comedies, that makes me feel nostalgic.
classic flck, funny, great EVH soundtrack. This should definitly be put to dvd!!!
The only credit to this film is seeing a hot young Chris Penn goofing around. Utterly forgettable and brutally stupid.
I believe it is the best 80's party movie. Yes it is comonly overlooked 80's flick.
overlooked sequel to Fast Times at Ridgemont High.
Chris Penn is totally hot in this.
Cameron Crowe script again, this is basically a "Fast Times at Ridgemont High 2," but not nearly as good. Another stellar cast of relative unknowns at the time, yet again make the watching more intriguing. 3 out of 5!
This movie is a blatant "Fast Times" ripoff, even going so far to cast Chris Penn in a Spicolli-like role. Nevertheless, the cast is great, the music is cool, and the movie is fun overall, even if it's not that laugh out loud funny. P.S.: Rick Mora...
