pretty decent action movie, the plot was eh.......mediocre, vin diesel was pretty awesome (as usual) but it had potential to be a really good movie

Throughout the movie, many things aren't explained and you really have to make your own assumptions on what's going on, which isn't very easy. The action sequences were decent, and some of the futuristic settings had an appeal. But in the end, it's all the confusion that brings this movie down. But at the same time, this movie really looks like it was going somewhere, and I feel bad because the mess that this film became in the end, as claimed by the director, was all because the studio "butchered it" without letting the director have control over the editing. So maybe Babylon A.D. had it's chance at being a decent film, but because of being butchered up, we'll never know. So really, the way the movie is right now, is bad, but I'm giving it small credit because it had some potential to be something better.
Confusing. Dumb. One BIG question mark stamped right on your head at the very end. But i give them slight credit for trying.
this movie was ok. not boring. kinda interesting what was the plot of the movie.

Like its star, Babylon A.D. begins with a lot of promise and potential. There is a mystery and a world surrounding the film's plot that begs to be explored and expanded. It's clear that reckoning is coming that will shake the film's entire base situation. Yet that moment never comes. The set pieces feel boring, underdone, and routine. Several scenes have the feeling of "now it's time for the snowmobile chase," "this is the emotional death," "here's the inevitable romance" as though the filmmaker was rushing through the film's bucket list days before deadline. It moves like a lobotomized Children of Men that spent its entire effects budget on just enough material to fit into a trailer without considering the demands of its story, or even an ending. In the hands of a more competent director (or at least one who could make a decent rip of Ridley Scott or Steven Spielberg) perhaps the film would have lived up to its promise. In my opinion, the only thing worse that a woefully bad movie, is a woefully bad movie with a lot of potential. My hope is that Diesel can change his path before suffering a similar fade.
Shoddy dialogue and stiff acting brings this down. There were some good action scenes but not eno

I almost wanted to shout "What the fu*k was that?!" in the end... maybe one of the worst sci fi thriller I've seen in my life. Babylon A.D is actually based on the french novel "Babylon Babies" where in the near future a mercenary known as Toorop (funny name isn't it?) accepts a contract under a Russian mobster; Gorsky (Gerard Depardieu!!!). He is asked to deliver a young lady whose only name is Aurora to a new salvationist religion called the Neolites in New York City. All her life she was being taken care by sister Rebeka in a peaceful Convent somewhere in Mongolia. But this girl as a deep secret that only you should discover if you want to watch this crappy movie. The main problem is that the plot is quite confusing and, well, to be honest, dumb. The action sequence are VERY poor and not entertaining as well. The movie was fast paced and felt like it was on a rush. Maybe that was a good thing since I could not wait for it to end. The script was a stinker as well. Can you believe that director Matthieu Kassovitz who made an epic french movie La Haine actually directed this piece of shit? Nope, Sir, you fail for this one. GOOD NIGHT!
Vin Diesel definitely can't learn to improve his acting, and is boxed in a action copy paste slot. Kassovitz again made a very messy storyline and had some very serious directing faults. Kassovitz again made a very messy storyline and had some very serious directing faults. The story is not fully developed, the end is a real catastrophic failure with pathetic ending of endless happiness and leaving out a big part of story. And if you learn that Kassovitz's girlfriend's name is also Aurora as the virgin maiden's name in the movie then you got some things to think about. Sometimes action, combined with French sci fi futuristic art vision and a solid Asian star like Yeoh is not enough as the ingredients to make it a good movie, even if the main chef is a French one.
