Epic. Alaska. Darkness. Blood. You are just gonna love it and be engrossed into the movie so much, that you'll start fearing the dark pronto.
Terrific location. Terrific darkness. Terrific horror. Just makes your spines stand up.
A brutal, intense, great looking movie. It's kind of like the anti-Twilight, and that makes me happy. These vampires just attack and kill, without much brooding, staring, or even dialogue. These vampires just attack and kill, without much brooding, staring, or even dialogue. The human characters are interesting, and their plight to stay alive seems convincing. Hartnett, not always the best, is suited well here, and his low key way of talking heightens the mood. The supporting cast is solid as well. David Slade's direction is the best part. He keeps energy high, has some excellent camera work, and plays with the location and heavy snow, making it very atmospheric.

Music sets a creepy tone -Savage, brutal and the ultra violent gore in a few scenes really looked extra special against the eerie white backdrop of Barrow, Alaska. Acting quite average however that did not detract from a overall great adaption of the graphic novel. My favourite scene is a wonderful aerial flyby of the main street in the town showing numerous vampires causing carnage with blood spraying over the snow in a variety of ways. Screechy vampires can get slightly annoying but overall a corker.
this was an awesome movie only issue was the end it could have been better but i luved this movie it was cool.

I still think the ending could have been better though.
it was rope. story was crap. most of the gore was off camera. I will never get that time back .
