Pitch-perfect Emmy-winning performances allow this to extend much past its potential as a made-for-TV film. The closing scene was one of the most harrowing pieces of film-making I've seen in weeks (minus the annoying, literal song playing in the background.) Save a few flaws, "The Matthew Shepard Story" is a beautiful picture.

This movie made me feel depressed. It is a good well made movie but its storyline is not something that many people can swallow. My heart is so aching right now.

This is a very emotional story, but Stochard Channing drove me mad in this role for some reason. The end of the film was brilliantly done, however - very moving.

So I went ahead to Youtube and searched for some photage about Matthew and his cruel fate. There was alot of things that popped up. Then I saw the movie. I watched it and it was....I can't think of anything. It was Really emotional. I can't believe people can do such insidious things to another human being. Respect others as you would yourself.

The scene that really touched me was were Matthews' dad stood in the court and said...."....I didn't have a gay son, but a son who happened to be gay...."
