A great Netflix rental. I hadn't even heard of it before, but Will put it in our queue and I watched. Very enjoyable and a lot more substance than I expected with this high school coming out story.

At first, the accent of 2 of the actors is going to get to you; like you can't place it. It's Belgian, the sneaky French/German/Dutch/Flemish accent that eludes you. I didn't find out until after the movie, so it irritated me the whole time trying to place it.
That all being said, it's the cliche teenie bopper fish-out-of-water story with a pink twist. Tad Hilgenbrink is sharply witty with the script and kudos to a American Pie alum for playing gay so well (and drag no less). Brett Chukerman is ALWAYS a nice site to behold and he does his Jared Leto best to not have you hate him when he's being peer pressured into popular acts. All the rest are just sort of there, content playing caricatures of high school movie roles, you know, the black girl with 'tude, the homophobic doping jock, the eccentric photo guy on yearbook...
It was enjoyable though...major KUDOS to the costume designer...long live the 80s!

It was meant to be set in europe.. but everyone had perfect yankee accents.. i dun get it lol. But not a bad movie. Quirky and at times funny.

A wonderful movie--it's charm and characters overwhelm the minor writing/acting/production flaws.

A damned adorable movie!

damn near unwatchable. in fact it was unwatchable. i got through 15 minutes before i bailed. not even tad hilgenbrink in a top hat could get me through it.

Hindered at times by low-budget constraints and amateurish scripting, but ultimately funny and charming where it counts.

As the films opens we are told the High School setting is "somewhere in Europe". Even the actors didn't know apparently, as their accents wavered between English and "European" the entire film.

The cliched bitchy straight girlfriend, cute straight college jock love interest and single parent dad trying to understand should have made this cliched mess somewhat more charming but instead made it more irritating.

How the hell did this film get funding?
