One of Shakespeare's most magical plays (and unusual in that it lacks a written source for the plot).

very weird. a bunch of famous British actors naked and painted green. i like it.

The performances are great, but the film feels so completely dated that it tends to drag on for its entire duration. 1) The worst, acid-induced camera work and what-period-are-we-in? costuming ever. Bad hair and metallic green body paint abound, and the flash-cut camera takes are both hilarious and sad. There are no words for how horrible this movie looks.
2) The best cast and acting you will see anywhere. Period. These people manage to act their faces off even in bad make-up. It is amazing, you spend the whole movie wishing you could just see them act on a blank stage in t-shirts, without the distracting superficial glitter.
Best bits: Yong, scruffy Ian Holm being an adorable puppy-like Puck and a young, perky half-naked Judy Dench. Seriously, she's sexy.
