The charismatic and talented musician gets a chance at a comeback when reigning diva Cora Corman invites him to write and record a duet with her, but there's a problem--Alex hasn't written a song in years, he's never written lyrics, and he has to come up with a hit in a matter of days. Enter Sophie Fisher, Alex's beguilingly quirky plant lady, whose flair for words strikes a chord with the struggling songwriter. On the rebound from a bad relationship, Sophie is reluctant to collaborate with anyone, especially commitment-phobe Alex. As their chemistry heats up at the piano and under it, Alex and Sophie will have to face their fears--and the music--if they want to find the love and success they both deserve.

the idea of implementing a lyricist and a musician into a story was good. it could've been a lot better. i was hoping for a lot more than what the movie gave... even for a fluffy chick flick.

i think what really killed it for me was the ending. it felt extremely rushed together.
I pretty much love any comedy with Hugh Grant in it, and this was no exception. Perfect light entertainment, and the opening credits/pop video are just brilliant!
not as terribly cheesy as I expected. somehow both hugh grant and drew berrymore were not as obnoxious as usual. overall, very cute.

Hugh Grant is so funny. His comedic timing and Drew Barrymore's quirkiness made the movie fun to watch.

Joidenkin kohtien ehka hidastempoinen eteenpain vieminen pilaa tunnelmaa mutta kaikinpuolin muuten erittain oiva elokuva lajissaan.
It's actually quite funny. But the story is quite predictable. At least Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore did make the characters likeable.
Haven't seen it! I haven't liked her since my husband told me she was his dream girl!
