An exhaustingly frantic comedy of the 'they don't make them like they used to' school of thought. This is guaranteed to leave you spent and wasted. The sheer speed of the performances, the extraordinary length of some of the scenes and the spell bind... (read more)

Definately some funny parts and good one liners, but it's way too long and kind of slow. The acting gets on your nerves (it's a little TOO broadway for me). Most problematic is Bette Davis's role as a secretary - definately not her kind of roll - b... (read more)

Retool the concept with Will Ferrell in the lead and you've got a hit. Desperately in need of updating. 20 minutes in I started skipping around to see if it ever got funny. It didn't.

If modern comedy was anything like then I would watch them. This is comedy at its finest. Genius, simply genius.

Great classic comedy, and one of Bette Davis' best roles, in my opinion. Great viewing anytime, including Christmas. One of our family favorites!

A bit cheesy, hammy and all round silly at times but with Jimmy Durante stealing all the best lines, its worth keeping a copy for your collection.
