Fern is one of the only two living beings who sees that Wilbur is a special animal as she raises him, the runt of the litter, into a terrific and radiant pig. As Wilbur moves into a new barn, he begins a second profound friendship with the most unlikely of creatures -- a spider named Charlotte -- and their bond inspires the animals around them to come together as a family. When the word gets out that Wilbur's days are numbered, it seems that only a miracle will save his life. A determined Charlotte -- who sees miracles in the ordinary - spins words into her web in an effort to convince the farmer that Wilbur is "some pig" and worth saving.

Little miss Dakota Fanning has nearly been in every little girlâs movie that brings a curtain smile to your face. Julie Roberts, the voice of Charlotte herself, brings that magical feeling to this film.

The farmer has a smoke house and the animals all think the pig will be eaten for xmas. The spider makes a promise and makes it his lifes ambition to save the pig from the cull. There is nothing out and out original - it's just a pleasant story that younger children will enjoy. Interesting enough to keep the adults ticking over.
Wouldn't that be nice. Having the world be a little bit nicer, a little bit brighter.A definite feel good movie.
I admit I was skeptical of this. Very Skeptical. I wouldn't have watched if it were not for my little siblings. But I must say the film wasn't bad at all. It's worth a watch.

Best of all may be the narration, by Sam Shepard: His voice, the kind of voice God might have if he'd ever smoked Camels, frames this gentle but potent little story with good-natured authority, making it feel modern and ageless at once.full review
Charlotte's Web, with its insistently 'magical' theme music, an overbearing climax and a trough full of bad jokes, is merely adequate.full review
The film, directed by Gary Winick (13 Going on 30) has a sweetness of its own.full review
What do you say about a mediocre movie adaptation of a literary masterpiece? Could have been worse? Or, it could have been much, much better, but even then it probably wouldn't measure up to the original?full review
A whimsical and warmly appealing adaptation of the children's classic.full review
Gary Winick's film may not be perfect, but it honors its source and captures the key elements that have made E. B. White's book a classic.
