A powerful film from the Blacklist Era as the director has suffered. Strong characters are found through this film, all taped in Jersey City.

Poitier and Cassavetes are both excellent in their lead roles, and the film is an impressive piece of 1957, examining some powerful issues that still resonate today, sadly. However, it ends way too abruptly, and feels incomplete, like the filmmakers ... (read more)
