Even when the gang boss is brought to trial, he is acquitted when Kevin's evidence disappears from under his nose. His attempt to rescue a beautiful but reluctant key witness results in Kevin being wanted for murder and on the run from both the gang and his own squad. To bring the gang to justice he has to find the evidence and the witness--and stay alive long enough to convince his colleagues of his innocence.

I just love the expression and the scream Jackie releases before launching into the stunt. It really looks like he's thinking "F*** it, I'm gonna die" and then goes for it.
Not many actors would sacrifice themselves like that for the sake of the audience.
I really admire Jackie Chan's cat-like reflexes, and no doubt if he met me he would admire my Jackie Chan-like reflexes too

A fine vintage, Police Story has aged well. The quality & legitimacy of JC's stunt work still makes for intense viewing.
Of course there isn't much to the characters or their stories, but Jackie action's always impressive. Also he snaps and whales on a druglord.
Des bastons de malade, un Jackie Chan hilarant, des jolies filles, une poursuite en voitures "Mange-toi ca Michael Bay", un climax de sept minutes ou TOUT est detruit et ou Chan se bat contre une Kawasaki.
Mortel.

I've read for years about how this was one of the greatest martial arts movies and how this is Chan's greatest work. I fail to see any of that. The beginning and the ending in the mall were amazing, but everything in between I could have done without. I was never really a fan of mixing too much humor with martial arts. Standard story. Standard acting. Standard directing. It's an ok movie. Just overrated.
Awesome mall finale. Congratulations, Jackie! Better than your American movies!
Alternates between 'totally awesome' and 'soul-suckingly boring.' But the awesome parts are indeed that.
Wow Dubs are hilarious. The cop changing his mind and saying "I'll be right there" with the stupidest smile = best part. Boss is 12 years old?
