Pretty funny. Kinda slow at the beginning and the story line was odd, to say the least. But still pretty cute.
pretty good how they managed to exploit a good film out of a cliche-story like this, Rocky anyone? big plot turn though, pretty funny but mostly stupendus. not bad!
If I could get this in the States, I'd buy it. The fact that this movie works at all, I think, is a credit to Orlando Bloom's acting. He brought a cliched role to life with Jimmy's optimism and innocence.

The documentary aspect of the movie was a mess. It tried to exploit the humor of mockumentary without actually shooting in a documentary style... and while I learned a lot of film analysis bullshit, I just don't see how they honestly thought this coherently worked within the form.
None the less, this film makes me smile, and at the end of the day, that can be all that matters.
What was Orlando Bloom thinking?! One of the worst films that I have ever seen.
Constantly mis-firing mockumentary in which Bloom looks out of place. Whilst it is spoofed up as a British parody of Rocky, the comedy is weak and relies solely on unfunny stereotypes of Cockneys.
Not bad. Your typical David vs. Goliath meets Rocky film. Some pretty funny lines here and there, plus a few line I couldn't understand. Still good though

It's funny in parts, but the laughs are few and far between. Most annoyingly of course it portrays the milkmans British neighbours and friends as so British they actually become un british, if you get what I mean; kind of that feeling you get when walking through Stratford upon Avon walking through a crowd of American tourists who have absolutley no idea of how real Brits actually live. So that wrecks the film and knocks at least 2/5 stars off it for a start. In my opinion. However if you love the melting cheesey, multi cultural, liberal lefty attitudes of Calcium Kids neighbours and friends, which was also one of the delights of 'Bend it Like Beckham', then this film is unquestionably your kind of film! But if you easily get irratated by an ugly, whimpy Gareth Gates look alike making a success of himself then you will detest this film.
