It falls somewhere between Au revoir les Enfants and La Vita e bella, in terms of both content and quality. The ending is shocking, deliberately, and events leaving up to it are sentimental. All in all a good production.

Malgré ce que tout le monde peut dire, moi j'ai vraiment embarqué dans l'histoire, et je salue les films italiens qui sont souvent bien meilleurs que les méga productions américaines super commerciales.
