Good modern fighting but a so so story, it's mostlly the usual stuff you associate with the far-east comedy action genre.

The martial arts scenes with Miu Tse were brilliant, Li is on top form, great story, great action, great cast.

Li has great chemistry as the father-figure who must save his wily, mischief-seeking son who gets kidnapped by a crime ring who don't realize how much trouble one boy with Wushu skills can be. But, like all Hong Kong films of the period, its undermined by a wonky mixture of beautiful cinema (in the dramatic moments) and terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE Hong Kong comedy and bad production values (in the martial arts bits). The film's biggest crime is that the effective first 30 minutes gets you caring and then the remaining 70 minutes abhors you with run-of-the-mill masala-style filmmaking. For fans of the star-studded cast only.
Jet Li plays the dad role rather well and shares great chemistry with the great late Anita Mui,
omg... this movie is like really old. i remember watching this when i was in highschool. donnt really remember wat is it about. but i know i liked it.
Jet Li's martial art style is fantastic. His acting is pretty one dimensional, but the fighting is awesome.

It was highly derivative of just about every other early to mid '90s Hong Kong action flick, and I expected better from Jet Li, in both the acting and action departments. That said, this is definitely not the worst action movie I've ever seen, and I'm sure I would have enjoyed it more had it not been dubbed, which is very odd, considering it is a Dragon Dynasty title. DD has had, in every other case except this one, offered the film with the original language and subtitles, which I actually find is better for foreign films, as dubbing never looks or sounds good. All in all, I'd pass on this one.
