Great fun. Really enjoyed this despite clichés, stereotypes & derivative plot. (So many innuendos!) How can I not like a film where the hero is called Rodney!
I remember I robot came out at the same time. And i confused the two alot. Clarification: this movie was bad. I, Robot was not.

And this is another fairly amusing, but incredibly bland animation in which something happens and everyone deals with it. It has a paddling pool's worth of emotional depth and whilst the characters are likable the whole thing is a bit predictable. It was a bit like watching Cars again, I wanted to care - I really did, but i couldn't muster up the enthusiasm. Animators need to spend time investing in storylines, quality writing and spend less money on getting people like Robin Williams in. Robin Williams is of course absolutely brilliant; but even he can't create something out of a whole pile of nothing. This film was robotic in the literal sense of the word, very predictable, repetitive and with no real heart. A fun way to waste an hour and a half but don't expect anything special.
The premise of this was actually pretty adult and a bit Logan's Runesque : Old bots are scrapped because they are unable to fix themselves without shelling out for hugely expensive parts, provided by monolithic corporations.

Drug companies parallels, anyone?
If this film wasn't so obviously a kids' one (fart jokes, Robin Williams, etc.) it could actually have been REALLY good.
by far one of the most enjoyable films i have ever watched, and i continue to enjoy it everytime i watch it. some hilarious characters throughout, including the baddies. a must see
Seen parts of it, but it's never really grabbed me as a movie I like. Much better 3D animated films, mostly from the likes of Pixar.

The innovative look is undercut by the predictable story and a drawn-out, overblown ending.full review
The visuals have so much intrinsic motion that it's too bad Robots is oppressively rollercoasterish.full review
The sophistication of its humor is at the level of The Simpsons, and the computer animation is a wonder.full review
Software has rarely made hardware look as attractive as it does in Robots.full review
Like Finding Nemo, this is a movie that is a joy to behold entirely apart from what it is about.full review
A reminder that when it comes to innovative animated entertainment for all ages, there is Pixar, there is Japan and there is everybody else.full review
