Strange, sarcastic, poignant, surreal. Like a lot of Quebecois films, it has a certain sentimentality at its heart, but I'll take that over knee-jerk snideness any day. A long, hot, airless dream about fate and redemption.

I can't get enough of Pascale Bussieres. It is such a shame that she is not more well known outside of Quebec. It is a strange series of events in Brian Mulroney's hometown. No the ex-PM didn't suck away the tides.

Takes a myth famous from the Darwin Awards and weaves a sophisticated but subtle story around it. I find Canadian movies are always a bit too dark in tone, but this has an amusing sarcasm to it.
