In the name of Texas, Sam Houston and justice, the Duke battles the 'wild' Injuns and gun-runners. Solid action but dated, with Lee Marvin making an all too brief appearance.

Decent, though somewhat dated. The scope cinematography is nice to look at, and John Wayne is entertaining as usual.

Doesn't re-invent the genre, but it does what it has to do. John Wayne kicks some ass and the story is twisty enough to keep you interested through the more clichéd bits. Lee Marvin steals his scenes, and bit players like Elam are always fun.

Very average story that sort of abruptly comes to a James Bond like mass-slaughter-of-the-bad guys ending while none of the good guys even get hurt.

Definatley not one of John Waynes bests. The only reason I watched it was because I am a big Wayne fan and I figured I needed to see it. Lee Marvin is hilarious but sadly he is only in the film for 10 minutes which was bummer.

Has some very memorable JW quotes, and Lee Marvin is hilarious. Not the best JW ever, but a good one.

Very average western with Wayne playing Wayne - this time as a Texas Ranger. Lee Marvin has a memorable role as a gun-runner but is sadly underused.

Fairly enjoyable western with Wayne playing Wayne, as usual. Probably the thing that stood out most for me in this film is its incredibly dated treatment of the Indians, who are light-heartedly massacred in their hundreds, and whose only function in ... (read more)
